Pre-employment Medicals
You can make an appointment to have a pre-employment medical where you have been instructed to do so by a potential employer. The normal practice is for patients to bring necessary documentation to the appointment. Our surgery will then arrange appropriate blood, urine and BP checks, as appropriate. The examination cost is usually borne by the patient, unless specified otherwise by the particular employer.
Other Medical Examinations - Insurance/Driving Licence, Diving
If patients seek Life/Mortgage cover Insurance Companies often look for Medical Examinations dependent upon the amount of life cover sought. We provide this service in the surgery. The patient is contacted by the Insurance Company to attend for Medical Examination. The Insurance Company sends the necessary paperwork to us and, on completion of the Medical, the forms are returned by us directly to the Insurance Company. The cost of the examination is borne by the Insurance Company.
Dependent upon age and certain medical conditions, a Medical is sometimes sought for Driving Licence purposes. Forms for such medicals are held here in the practice and an appointment is necessary. The cost of this examination is borne by the patient.
For Diving Medicals, the patient usually brings along their Diving Book along with any other paperwork sought by the Diving Authority. The medical takes place in the surgery and cost is borne by patient.
